Based on the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) structure of six hierarchical statistical area levels comprised in ascending order:
- Mesh Block,
- Statistical Area Level 1,
- Statistical Area Level 2,
- Statistical Area Level 3,
- Statistical Area Level 4, and
- State and Territory.
Each level directly aggregates to the level above.
