Based on the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) structure of six hierarchical statistical area levels comprised in ascending order:

  • Mesh Block,
  • Statistical Area Level 1,
  • Statistical Area Level 2,
  • Statistical Area Level 3,
  • Statistical Area Level 4, and
  • State and Territory.

Each level directly aggregates to the level above.
